I know there were other things I completed in this year, but these are all I can remember at the moment...
Originally, I set this up as though I was going to do a bunch of mini reviews. I'm not gonna do that, instead I'm just gonna list things because it is much easier. If I wanna review something, I'll make a full fledged review of it elsewhere on teh site : )
We played the HD version on the Nintendo Switch (just because it was way easier to do so at the time with our setup).
Playtime: 90+ hours (Idle hours included)
Overall, this took me and Ciel a few months to complete. Between school and other commitments, we can be quite pokey playing stuff sometimes.
I remember we beat it in the summer. Ultimecia's castle went CRAZZZZYYYYY.
We really enjoyed this and all of the characters and the world... I did find myself fustrated at how everything went up in smoke and felt very unfinished, but the same can be said about any JRPG on the Playstation that I love. They all were overly ambitious, to their benefit. I wonder what 8 would have looked like if it had all the room to breathe that it wanted? It begs to be written about. I won't go into it much here to avoid spoilers for those who want to play it eventually. A lot of people haven't played much of it because they can't get past the GF system and the cards. But I actually really liked both of those systems, once you get used to it (which takes about 3 or 4 hours), it is fairly easy to pull open and play with.
Weirdly enough, me and Ciel played the entire game without touching the card game. Don't know how. It just never came up. Maybe we skipped something? Either way, at some point, I want to play the original crunchy version of the game where everyone looks like they belong in The Sims. So we will play the card game there.
Still the best looking guy here...
I find it way more fun to play games with Ciel because we just trade off and then when I get bored of managing the characters or a fight or something she can be my knight and just do it... : ) hehe. Also then while we play we invent stories and lore and that is basically the best part of these kinds of games. And makes it fun when things are left hanging like they were because then we can decide what we think the coolest answer would be to those unanswered questions the story presents...
