My ponies so far...

I absolutely love My Little Pony. I love all generations, but I love the look of the earlier generation ponies the best.
I already collect enough videogames as is, so I wanted to set a limit on how many ponies I could obtain.
I decided to have a lesbian flock. A pony to represent each shade of the lesbian pride flag! : )
My source for (90%) of the information from this page is the Mylittlewiki!
Strawberry Reef was also very helpful in finding ponies of certain colors!

Gender Nonconformity: Wigwam
Names in other languages
Spanish: (Spain) Grand Chief
German (Germany): Indi

Generation: 1
Series: Year Six Big Brother Ponies
Hair Colour: White with blue stripe in mane
Eye Colour: Blue

Symbol: Blue and red teepees, blue crescent moon, red star and zig zag line

I really like Wigwam because I think the Big Brother ponies are so cute...
I also like that it's a representation of an Indigenous pony... (they tried, at least! For 1987 this is pretty tame. I'm reclaiming him, ok?)
To me, I feel that this fits because I myself see my native identity and my sexuality identity as intrinsically linked.
The cultural norms that my people have regarding gender, for example being accepting of Two-Spirited-ness, allowing women to perform tasks what the 'western world' views as too masculine, these are things we've been doing as far back as our history can remember...
I find strength in that a lot. I love being a woman who can present herself in a way that is 'masculine' or 'butch'. I don't allow outside cultural influences to affect my behavior or who I am. Because I know I'm still a woman, I belong, and I also have a belonging with my people: past, present and future.
I'm sorry, I'm not too good with words here, and I'm honestly not too sure on the 'appropriate terminology'.
Anyway, for those reason, I felt that Wigwam was a great fit as the Butch pony in my flock : )

Independence: Tangerine Twinkle
Generation: 3
Series: Divine Shine Pony / Crystal Princess

Body Colour: Orange glitter body
Birthday Month: October
Favorite colour: Butterscotch Yellow
Favorite gem: Moonstone
Favorite Thing To Do: Learning a new dance step!
Hoof Heart: Purple

So, something that I think is really cute about miss Tangerine Twinkle is that she stands at a height that makes her the smallest of the flock. I think of her as a young girl, really coming into herself. I remember what that was like, being young and it all hitting me... the possibility that I could love another woman, that she could love me too, that I could marry one, that no one could stop me. It really felt like all of me was twinkling!
I feel she represents Independence because she's learning new things about herself. She's going against what most other people think she ought to do to pursue her own happiness and love. She's not afraid to try new things, in fact she finds joy in it.
Following your own path, being independent but true to your wishes and feelings in your heart... I think that would make you 'shine' in a way that some might feel is 'divine'. It certainly felt that way for me because I spent so much of my life feeling like I had to be somebody else, filing all my dreams away as impossibilities... when I realized that the only thing holding me back (truly) was myself, I was set free in a way that felt magical.

Also, as a bonus, I think all girls can be Princesses.... : )
Meaning that, you're special, important, valuable and a treasure. You are worthy of your dreams and all your hearts desires. : )
