Welcome~ Here is where I store my games...

I don't super *love* what the term "videogame collector" has come to mean in recent years, but by the process of being a lifelong fan of the medium, I have a good number of titles. And I keep adding to it. LOL.
I only list here games which I am 100% keeping. Some games I own I will sell at one point or another for a title I'm hunting, or are just in my hands until I beat them.

Notes: I have SO many good things to say about this game (series). It's just so so special... I don't want to spoil anything but if you are anything like me you will really get a lot from these games. They get better as they go along and as you get more invested into them.

Notes: I think when I completed this game was the moment I realized that this was probably going to be my favorite overall multigame experience on the PS2.
I'm super determined to get J and Ciel to replay this series with me (but I need to pick up the next two entries of the series that I don't own anymore : (

Notes: Man playing this series was just so cool I really want to replay the entire thing (particularly since I never beat the last entry).
Haseo is such a cutiehead....
The only con: Grunties were cuter in the original .hack// series.

Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana

Notes: I picked this up last year (2022) and I'm so excited to get to playing it. When I sampled it, I was so pleased by the cute sprites and voice acting.

Notes: This was a Christmas present from Ciel in 2022!
I had fun playing it, I do like the PS1 version better though.... I think the visuals just seem more charming on the PS1 or something? Unsure.

Notes: I haven't decided how evil this game is. I also haven't decided for sure if I am going to have a Devil May Cry phase or not. Only time will tell. Until then, it rests in wait in the folds of my PS2 collection.

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII
Status: Complete? Probably

Notes: I played a TON of this even though I wasn't too fussy on the genre. I was switching between this game and Shadow the Hedgehog (2005). I was the target demographic. 100%
It's really cool seeing more of Vincent though. And Genesis? Cherry on top.

Unrelated but first time I snorted [redacted] with J was off of this holographic cover.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
Status: Unplayed

Notes: I got this as a birthday gift as a young teenager from someone who was like a sister to me. I miss her a lot : (
I'm not really sure if I'll play this in the next 10 years lol I really want to play other Dragon Quest games first.
This game is special because it's the first time anyone who was my friend acknowledged my gaming hobby in a positive way. She thought hard about what would make me happy *starts crying*

Notes: It has dragons what's not to love?
Also heard the guy was evil in a hot way??? Very cool if true!
I'm kind of holding off on playing until I can pick up the second game, then I can marathon through like I did with Xenogears/Xenosaga.

Final Fantasy X

Notes: This is such a special game to my heart... it means a lot to me.
I consider myself lucky that I still have my original childhood copy :)

Notes: I was having a panic attack this entire game trying to figure out what happened to Tidus only to get the bad ending. TT.TT
This OST is one of my favorites, I love the sphere grid dressup simulator. I like this game a lot more now that I realize there is a GOOD ending.

Final Fantasy XII (Collector's Edition)

Notes: I've tried this one more times than I can remember but I don't like the battle system at *all*. Also found it mad confusing playing it when I was too young to comprehend half of the language used in it. Hoping to watch J or Ciel play this for me at some point.

Grandia III
Status: Complete!

Notes: The OST is really wild, the opening theme is kind of funny now that it's super dated (starts singing: I wanna find it.. the one I'm searchin'... [unintelligible]) but there are a lot of tracks on here that still go super hard. The colors in this game are wonderful and I really love the enviroments. That being said there was a lot of weird shit going on in this game. I do not like Miranda sorry to Miranda fans.

Harvest Moon - A Wonderful Life (Special Edition)

Notes: I'm gonna be real. I *do* really want to play this but every time I go to do so I get super disoriented by how different the graphics are rendered in the PS2 engine compared to the GameCube engine that I'm used to.

Harvest Moon - Save The Homeland
Status: Incomplete

Notes: I really enjoyed what I played of this game! I felt that it was really cute and still in a similar presentation to A Wonderful Life, which is arguably my choice for favorite Harvest Moon game. I would like to eventually do all that there is to do in this game... it calls to me. I love the art style so much.

Notes: The atmosphere of this game is off the charts phenomenal. However, I found it really difficult and have yet to blaze my way through it. I think maybe I am not skilled enough DX

Katamari Damacy

Notes: I love this series. It's equal parts relaxing and hilarious. The humor is perfection. The way that it all comes together is wonderfully charming. The OST has some real bangers. I highly recommend it if you've never played!

Notes: I got this fairly close to release---I can remember so much about the hype of that moment. I'd kept reading about it in gaming magazines.... I had no idea that it was about to change the directory of my entire life...

Notes: Guys I do not know who I would be as a human being without this game. It forumlated so much in my brain. I have archetypes of how alters act that is lifted straight from the dynamics I observed in this title. I feel like this world is tangible and real and I carry it inside my heart. It just was... so everything. I have my original copy still and I am surprised it still works : )
My headcanons go CRAZY with this one... LOL.
I had no clue when I first played this just how much it would shape me into the person I am today.

Kingdom Hearts - Re:Chain of Memories

Notes: I really keep meaning to play this one but then every time that I feel the Kingdom Hearts itch all I want to play is KH2. I really look forward to expierencing everything in this game at some point.

Mana Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy

Notes: I actually have the premium edition of this but idk if it counts because I've had the poster up in every room I've moved into since I was 12 so it's SUUUUPER beat up and shredded in parts. LOL. I really liked what I played of this game when I was like 12 or whatever but at the time I found it too difficult to understand so I never got too far...

Monster Rancher evo
Status: Incomplete---but got pretty close a few times!

Notes: This was my introduction to the Monster Rancher series. I haven't heard much of a buzz about it but I really enjoyed it actually! I think of the BAD! sound effect from the Monster training in this game a lot. I used to have it memorized which of my CD collection produced what---my options were Cher, Linkin Park, some DVDs I had at the time... I'd like to go back and catalog what those Monsters were. LOL

Musashi: Samurai Legend

Notes: I think the art is really sick reminds me of a How To Draw Manga Book in a good way.

Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga

Notes: I think it's really cool that they eat each other and fucked up stuff happens. I played this before I studied Hinduism in university so I think it would be really wild to go back and play it. But again, like most entries in the SMT series, I don't think I could spiritually allow myself to play them ever again now that I know what I know.

Notes: This whole game is a blur to me I played it really fast in a short time period while I did nothing but smoke weed. PS2 controller one hand, bong in the other. I don't do that anymore. LOL.

Notes: Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry Series.

I don't think I would ever play this game again but I also don't think it is intentionally evil. If that makes sense.

Notes: I did like this more than I liked 4, even though I played 4 first.
I played this over the period of two weeks where I had the worst pneumonia in my life. I don't know if it's as cool/mindblowing as I remember being it due to this.

Notes: Megurine Luka's "MEGANE" starts playing in my head every time I think about this game.
I enjoyed it. It was one of the first games I think my Dad ever preordered for me. I have the little preorder bonus still... >w<
It's not really like ... revolutionary or anything but I think playing this when I was in middle school really helped me understand some things about myself.
Yosuke is hot.

Notes: I've seen a lot of screenshots and things from this game and it all looks really cute. The models looks really nice in a way that gives me the warm fuzzies. I hope the voice acting is cheesy and I hope it is really charming overall and a love story. Waiting to crack this one open when I really need that fix only a good PS2 game can provide.

Notes: I remember always staring at this cover at a used videogame store when I was younger. I picked it up a few years ago with the intention to play the series at some point and see how I felt about it.

Xenosaga: Episode I - Der Wille zur Macht
Status: Complete! (2021)

Notes: I really adore this game and the memories I have with it.
However, it is the weakest entry in the Xenosaga series (trying to do an orchestra only arrangement was a mistake).
Expect to expierence some whiplash if you play this immediately after Xenogears.
That being said, there is a lot to love about this game when you *do* give it the chance.

Xenosaga: Episode II - Jenseits von Gut und Böse
Status: Complete! (2021)

Notes: Something to note on the Xenosaga trilogy is the fact that jumping from each title feels kind of insane. You get used to it.
In terms of story, I think this is my favorite of the series. You can see the inital scope that the team wanted to take the franchise. It's a shame that it was never fully realized.
A signifigant improvement in every sense from episode I.

Xenosaga: Episode III - Also Sprach Zarathustra Status: Complete! (2021) Although I would like to go back and 100% HaKok.

Notes: This game is absolutely wonderful---truly blissful---until it hits you that you are 90% of the way through the game and it's just ending like that on you. It's over and nothing is really concluded/resolved.
Prepare to write/read a lot of Fanfiction to try and help you overcome your feelings of tremendous loss at this cancelled project that had to end long before it should've.

Notes: I played a few hours, really liked it, but then life got chaotic on me and I had to stop playing. If I picked it back up, I'd have to start from the beginning. I'm really just waiting for the right time, when there's enough of a gap in time for me to invest into that world and really be a part of it.
